My nails are not past the tips of my fingers yet. Is that too short? How long do my nails have to be for a french manicure?
yeahhhHow long do my nails have to be for a french manicure?
Like 3 feet.
u should try 2 grow them a little but they can do it like that with a thinner line is all
Just past the ends of your fingers:)
They need to have some white showing.
no you can still get your nails done it doesnt matter how short they are
if the nail people can do tiny toes, they can do tiny finger nails!
it's a layer of paint on the top...so they can be any length!
well it depends on the shape of your nails but there has to be at least two millimeter of white tips
That's not too short. The white will just be painted over the flesh colored part of your nails. Afterwards your nails will look longer.
any nail past the pad of your fingertip is worth being painted and can be but below is just clear for now as it be not preeety
They can still do it but it wouldn't look as nice if you waited until they had grown out some.
you could get em done but theyll probably fall off before you get fills and would have wasted your money so you shold wait
I think that you should ask a nail technintoin at a nail salon. Then take their advice.
You can get them but they'll look better if your nails are a little longer. Or just get acrylics. Whenever I get a new set, they always clip my nails so they're super short anyways so you can definitely get them done and they'll look great. And I keep mine just past the tips of my fingers because of work %26amp; still get a french manicure %26amp; they look good.

Acrylic nail fillins show through my french manicure.?
I have been getting acrylic fill ins for about 3 mths now. I like getting my nails french manicured/airbrushed but notice now that you can see all the fill ins and repairs that have been done over time. This is very noticeable on the nail and makes the french manicure look bad.
I was wondering if fillins look this bad when using gel nails too? Ive been considering having the acrylic taken off and going with gel if it would look better and not leave fill in marks.
My own nails are very long (no need for tips etc). I basically got the acrylic done because my own nails kept splitting and breaking.Acrylic nail fillins show through my french manicure.?
Acrylic and gel are very similar, but in my experience a set of acrylic nails that are done professionally should not have any evidence of back fills. I have been doing acrylics for well over a year and when a set have been repaired they look like new.Acrylic nail fillins show through my french manicure.?
Acrylic is stronger than gel, but I like gel better because to me it looks better. If you go to gel, make sure it is really gel. If the person doing your nails, takes their brush %26amp; dips in liquid then powder, I don't care what they say, it's acrylic. Gel looks like gel, hence the name. Some nail techs will do acrylics with a gel overlay %26amp; charge you for gels.
Oh, make sure they are using the same product each time you get your nails done. Even though acrylic is acrylic, different products have different recipes to make their polymer for their acrylic product.

What is the Difference Between French Tip and Acrilyic Nails?
French Tip is just white at the end of your nails, you can get it done with out acrilics, or with acrylics if you want. Thats really the only diffrence. If your wondering what acrilyic is, its a powder turned into a forming gel that is aplied to the nail to make a longer nail, and drys quickley. What is the Difference Between French Tip and Acrilyic Nails?
nothing really, the french tip has a white line going across the tip and the acrylic is what they use to put on the nailsWhat is the Difference Between French Tip and Acrilyic Nails?
french tip is when the have the pink polish with the white tips. acrylic nails are the fake nails that are cemented onto your natural nails. you can have a french tip on your natural nails.
Nothing. French tip is when they make the tip of your nail white! If you are looking at having fake nails i suggest, Full Set Acrilyic with a French tip.
Umm, I don't really get your question, because they can put on a white tip (which is a french tip) with your acrylic nails.
They put the tip on your nail, and layer the acrylic on top. The acrylic comes in a powder form that becomes a molding gel once mixed with a solution and dries fairly quickly when applied to the nail.
i believed that the term french tip is refer to a color choice/perference painted on top of either your real/artificial nail. Acrylic nails refer to the artificial enhancement that is applied to the real nail. also is made up of a chemical combination of a powdery substance and a form of liquid type that forms an acrylic material when dried. hope that helps.eyebrows liner

How can i put on fake clear nails (they are natural looking french tip) w/o the glue showing?
I had to go to a wedding, and i am in the pictures, was going to get my nails done but would like to get the look buy buying them so I don't have to spend as much money. I just put 2 on, and u can see the glue underneath. Like a whiteish color. Do I just slide them on or press them on to get the glue spread out??How can i put on fake clear nails (they are natural looking french tip) w/o the glue showing?
Oh come on. Stop being so cheap! Getting your nails done professionally does not cst a lot of money. And fake nails that you glue on look like really fake. I've never seen ANY fake glue on nails that looked even close to being real. Besides, it's a wedding. Can't you spend a little money on your nails for a special occasion like that? Don't be so cheap, lol! How can i put on fake clear nails (they are natural looking french tip) w/o the glue showing?
or what you could do, is use nail polish to make a french tip. I do that all the time. Get three basic shades of nail polish: Beige/pink, white, and clear topcoat. Put three coats of the pink on and wait for it to dry. Then, from going straight left to right on your nail, use the white to make a straight line (the tip!), then wait for that to dry and put the top coat on. (make sure you put a large amount on so it protects better. I would say about 3-4 coats. Wait for the nail polish to completely dry. I do this all the time and the best part is that it doesn't matter how long you nail is, the white will make it look even longer. Plus, you don't have to mess around with glue and plastic nails lol. Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! = D

How do I take off a french manicure on my real nails??
Well, I was a dama in this cotillian and I got a french manicure on my real nails, I really wanna take it off because it's bothering me.How do I take off a french manicure on my real nails??
Nail polish remover/acetone.How do I take off a french manicure on my real nails??
If it's polish, remove with a polish remover, acetone polish remover works best as it's stronger, just use a good hand cream oir moisturiser afterwards.
Acrylics/gels/waps...NEVER EVER PULL THEM OFF!! They completely ruin your nails when you rip the off, you're tearing off layers of your nail plate making them very thin, which may lead to permanent damage. Use acetone to soak them off or return to a salon to have them removed. I have seen nails that are paper thin, split, peel, nails that grow out with holes in them, all due to ripping off nail extensions. Don't be stupid, just soak them off.
If it's a french manicure with the ';glue-on'; nails you can soak your hands in water and it eventrually comes off ,or you can clip it off with a nail-trimmer. If it was a painted manicure just use nailpolish remover. Good luck! ^_^
is it just painted on? use nail polish remover.
if they're acrylics, you should probably go get them removed ($6) or find some acetone and soak your nails in them then scrape. then soak again and scrape some more. it's gonna be a pain in the butt and hurt a little if you do it yourself.
Use an Acetone nail polish remover. will come right off if its just polish. Most Nail Polish removers are Non Acetone, use the Acetone one. All the nail salons use it. You can get it at just about anywhere. Walmart sells it for like 2 bucks.
i've done that before.
first soak them in hot water...multiple times, just so that there softer. you can take a nail file and thin it down of you can just pull tem off after that. It's up to you hun
There are a variety of different nail polish removers out there that you can order online or buy at a drugstore such as CVS or Walgreens. But if something like the smell bothers you then baby oil might work.

How do you keep a french manicure lasting on real nails?
i had my nails done friday at a salon and they are already beginning to chip. any ideas? How do you keep a french manicure lasting on real nails?
Yeah, like don't wet your hands at all for as long as you can. It happens to me too which is why I always give up and stop getting them cuz it gets expensive. I do dishes every day 2-3 times a day, bathe my daughters, shower myself, etc. so I think that's what does it. I use to wear gloves to try and make it last but the gloves are uncomfotable.
That's why I just paint my nails, it's weird though how your pedicure will last like a month. Go figure. Good luck! How do you keep a french manicure lasting on real nails?
no french manicure lasts THAT long...but OPI makes a great top that should make it last for @ least 1week before chipping..
cover them with a think coat of clear polish
UMMM maybe put a clear coat on or even a few!! But If i was u I wouldn't go to that place anymore expeically if there already chipping!!
Try not to bump into anything...
My nails use to do that all the time. I got into the habit of putting clear nail polish over my manicured nails in the morning and at night. You can even carry it with you and put it on when you have a break in your day. It really helped me. The clear nail polish covers and protects the paint underneath, it also makes your nails look fresher and shinier all the time. Hope it helps :)
Sally Hansen has an acrylic clear coat that keeps nails from chipping. It really works if you follow the directions. Other than that, try to avoid submerging your hands in soapy water like when doing dishes or if you wash a car. Even with everything, french manicures chip REALLY easily. If the manicure is already chipping and you just had it done on Friday, I wouldn't go there again either.
Always keep a coat of clear nail polish over them. It would stop them from peeling
