I have trouble freehand sculpting a white tip on acrylic nails. Is there any tip or tool that will help create a perfect smile line?Is there a tool to shape a perfect french acrylic nail?
There is no substitute for patience, and a LOT of practice to form the perfect smile line. I suggest watching video tutorials, or taking classes is even a better idea. It takes a long time to get it right. There are tools to help you cheat. But I have never heard of any that actually work any good at all. Practice is the only way to get a good smile line. Good instruction from a pro never hurts either. Using top quality professional products will help. And so will using a top of the line oval #8 pure Kolinsky hair acrylic brush. Using the proper ratio of liquid to powder is essential. If you are chasing product all around, then you are working way too wet. WHen the bead stays in a lump, and won't budge very easily, then it's too dry. It should take no longer than about 15 seconds to form the smile line, and another 15 seconds to clean it up with the tip of the brush. A good technique that you could try is called the 'reverse' technique. Young Nails has tutorials on this. It's basically putting on the pink first and perfecting the smile line at that time. Then you apply the white up against the pink. It's a really good way of doing a good smile line. But, this also takes practice. This is no miracle tool, or method for this. There are these stickers that you place on the nail, and paint above it where you want the french tip. You can even get paint on the sticker (if you don't have a steady hand) and when you peel off the sticker (when the polish is dry) it looks perfect. They make curved ones for the fingernails and flat ones for the toenails. I got mine at walmart, but I have also seen them at CVS, Rite aid, places like that.
