First one. The green tips aren't incorporated very well into the design in the second one so its looks funny.

That's the same problem i had and what they do is glue on nails just a bit longer than yours or how ever you like much like an extension but for your nail. and then put the acrylic over it and what ever design and they look fantastic they look completely natural and they don't look like the ugly press on nails you buy at the store

Are you wearing acrylics?
It could be that you washed dishes or touched some harsh chemicals without wearing gloves, if it's only the white part that's turning brown. If the whole nail is turning brown, the brush they used to apply the acrylic might have been contaminated.

They can if they are too long. Typically they can look nice and not too stuck up. If you are concerned about it though, I'd go with no color whatsoever. They can give the part that covers your nailbed an pinkish tent and then put a natural nail shade (it's like a see through off cream color) on the tips so they look completely natural...at least in color. Polish remover will not mess up your nails IF they are real UV gel nails and not the discount salon version of 'gel' nails which are acrylic nails with a UV gel topcoat. UV gels are not affected by solvents ( polish remover, acetone, etc) and will not harm them. Acrylic is affected by solvents and yes, they will be damaged depending on how long your nails are exposed to the solvent.
Its very simple to tell if you have real UV gels nails or not. If the tech used ANY liquid and powder on your nails, you have acrylic nails - not gel nails. No matter what the tech calls them, they are acrylic nails. Gel nails are made from gel - as the name implies. Liquid and powder is never used with real gel nails.
So to answer your question: As long as you have real UV gel nails, you can paint them with no harm to your nails whatsoever.

I find that a very light sparkly pink (note VERY LIGHT) or a light shiny beige (as long as it doesn't match your skin tone) go with almost everything.

You can try soaking them in nail polish remover with acetone. It does take awhile but be careful if you start pulling off the artificial nail because you could also remove top layer of your nail.

i have no idea how much fake nails and french manicure cost, but i can give you a really cute idea to try! just paint your nails one colour (for example a light pink). then, you do a french manicure with a darker pink! it is SO cute! it's also very young and shows lots of personality. you can do this with any colour. i saw a picture of a blue one, and it looked awesome!

Yes they will know what your talking about. When they are done just ask them to leave the tips natural, say you don't want the french tips. But they will still charge you the regular price, you could ask for a discount but I'm sure you'll end up paying full price.

Unfortunately you can't really speed up how fast a single nail grows. Ask your nail tech to cut the other nails down to make them more even.
Also, they can adjust the paint of the white tip on that one to make them more even.

How do u do agood french manicure on ure nails?
wen i always do it my left hand looks ok,but my right hand looks crap,cos im right handed obviously,and also the giudes dont stick right wen i use them please help,and wen i use the white nail varnish its to thick wen i put it on!How do u do agood french manicure on ure nails?
I don't like using guides - they always seem to smudge the polish as you pull them off. I just put the whites on freehand - load up quite a lot of polish on the brush so you can do it in one sweep without having to dip the brush again and try to get a smooth line. Sit at a table to do it so you can rest your hands and keep them steady. And do your right hand first so you are not worried about smudging when you do the other hand. I've tried all sorts of brands of polish and, believe it or not, the cheapest is the best! Collection 2000 goes on the smoothest!How do u do agood french manicure on ure nails?
I don't think the stickers or the guide work that well. My best advice for you is if you really love the look of your nails spend the money and get a gorgeous French Manicure. It will make you feel so good like a million dollars and just forget about all the money you spend on products that don't work.
While you are there ask the nail technician if she can recommend a product that you can use at home, or visit a local beauty school and ask if they have special rates on giving clients French Manicures if the cost of a weekly or bi-monthly manicure is too high for you.
I would just try to fit this into your budget and sacrifice something else you purchase instead. Hope that helps.
Sally makes a polish marker,it makes nice even lines, it takes practice, the first 2-3 times my right hand looked horrible but now I can do it in no time and it looks great

I've never figured out how they do French tips in the nail salon...probably because I've never been in one. Don't give me the tape method...it's a waste of tape and probably takes a lot of time. The Q-tip method is much better but I would like to know how they do it in the nail salons. Using a fine brush and dipping it in nail polish , slowly remove the polish and create a happy smiley line. After that one coat of base coat. One or two coat of a light beige or light pink colour polish on top. Some usually leave it clear or paint a clear pink polish. Then Top coat.
Need a little practice and it won't be to hard, once you get it.

usually the tail tech just does them by hand, with like just regular nail polish. or if you get acrylics they use white tips so then they dont have to do anything but paint them a clearish pink or beige color of polish.

Another way is to have it painted on. They paint the tip white and then clean it up with a small brush dipped in nail polish remover (that is the method I recommend)

I get french acrylic tip, I think they look prettier.
Just do the Q-tip method if you like it. It just takes practice. You can get acrylic kits at the store like target or walmart, maybe ulta or sephora.

well the sell kits at Walgreen's, grocery stores, and any salon supply stores. They have every thing you will need and directions. But if you by the cheap one it will be just that. Spring for the best and your nails will look Great!!
usually the tail tech just does them by hand, with like just regular nail polish. or if you get acrylics they use white tips so then they dont have to do anything but paint them a clearish pink or beige color of polish.
they usually airbrush it on when you go to the salon...but if its fake nails they usually use a special white tip tht they just glue on

You also have to think about the time of year. During winter months, you are more inclined to wear darker colors anyway.

The good thing about a french manicure is that it matches any outfit and is easy to do at home it also makes the shortest of nails look longer. However dark colours are great for the winter as they brighten up any outfit. Dark purples are in fashion at the moment but try avoiding leaving it on for more than 4 days as chipped nail varnish looks tacky to prevent this use a clear coat over the top it will usually last for a week if not longer. Finally dark nail varnish tends to stain the nails if worn over a long period of time to stop this from happening paint your nails with a clear nail varnish then apply the colour, then another clear coat over the top.

I let my nails grow then i french manicure them myself. Looks so much nicer then my normal dull nail. I tried the fake ones but i couldnt even brush my hair without them falling off!

I am going to my high school reunion on Friday and for the first time in my life I am getting faux nails done after much badgering from my friend. My outfit is black, shades of grey, and red so I really want Black nails with Red tips (a satanic frencg manicure? LOL) but do not want acrylics. Thus far, all I run across wth gels online is that they are natural, french, and sometimes sheer pink. Is it possible to get colors? If not all out color, can I at least get a fancy french manicure with like black %26amp; silver accents over the white?

Hi there, of course you can hunny :) Why not try and give it a go yourself? You'll need a steady hand, but with a bit of practise and patience, you'll get there :) This way, you can change the look yourself without the expense of going to a salon all the time when you want to update. You'll need a good base coat, colour of your choice and two coats of a hardwearing topcoat.
Of course it's possible. by the way, try acrylic nails dual system forms, watch videos on the Web.
